About NAAIA
The National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) was founded by Jerald L. Tillman in 1997 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Starting as an idea born out of a need for connection among fellow black insurance professionals within the insurance industry, NAAIA has now become a nationally recognized organization.
Originally, NAAIA aimed to bridge the gap between black independent agency owners and employees of Insurance companies. It served as a platform for networking, industry information sharing, business development, and career and business advice. Over the years, NAAIA has grown to encompass all insurance professionals, not just agency owners.
Today, NAAIA continues its mission of fostering personal growth and professional development within the industry and offers valuable opportunities to build mutually beneficial connections and partnerships. In collaboration with our partners, NAAIA also sponsors talent competitions for college students and awards scholarships to deserving students on an annual basis.
NAAIA is proud to be a chapter supported organization with 26 chapters nationwide. These chapters play a crucial role in serving local communities by organizing events and providing educational opportunities. NAAIA's commitment to professional development aims to create future career opportunities for our members and establish industry recognition of our organization as a reliable source for insurance talent.
While NAAIA primarily operates through its chapters, individual memberships from those who do not have a local chapter in their respective city are also encouraged. NAAIA strives to create a supportive network that benefits both our members and the entire industry. Join Us today and unlock an array of valuable resources and connections in the field of insurance.
